International Women’s Day 2014

International Women's Day 2014

Each year International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. The first International Women’s Day was held in 1911 . Thousands of events occur across the globe to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Organisations, governments, charities, educational institutions, women’s groups, corporations and the media celebrate the day. Each year the UN actually declares a theme for the IWD and this year the theme is INSPIRING CHANGE.

We had planned to write a nice long post about all the women we find inspiring here at Tickle and Delight HQ. Then we came across this video by Marie Claire Australia. No matter which wonderful women we all  find to be amazing, inspiring & motivating, it doesn’t really matter when the playing field still isn’t level. This video really says it all far better than we could have said it ourselves.

Please watch it, , like it, comment on it and share it. Help raise awareness of gender inequality and together we can not only #demandbetter but actually make a difference.
